Plastic Kaweco Sport
On this page I will list the plastic Kaweco Sport I know of. I will try that this list gets as comprehensive as possible. This page is still under construction - additional information and photos will be included as I get spare time. All the inputs from our followers will be most welcome.
Metallic lacquered prototype:
There were some prototypes made while experimenting with lacquering the plastic. But the finish wasn't perfect neither long-lasting. 5 or 10 units of each were made. Unknown number of colors. No imprint on the cap. Unknown dates, 199? They were never into regular production. [mail exchange with Michael Gutberlet, CEO of Kaweco] These prototypes had matte silver barrel and section, with steel nibs, the only variation was the cap color. I know about 4 colors made (all in my collection).
- Lacquered Prototype Green;
- Lacquered Prototype Gold;
- Lacquered Prototype Blue;
- Lacquered Prototype Purple.

Classic Sport:
Plastic pens with gold trim. Usually have solid colors but there are some transparent/translucent examples. They have gold plated steel nibs. The Guilloche and the Chess are texturized, the first on the cap and barrel; the second only on the cap. The range was introduced in 1999 and is still produced. The Blue is now discontinued. Of this series there are some regular and some special editions. About special editions, there seems to be two kinds: the ones speciffically released by Kaweco (with special colors) and some others with a mix of different pre-existant colors (that may be mixed by the distributor or seller).
